Tools For Getting Organized

Below you’ll find the tools needed for helping you to organize your business and communicate with any workers you may hire.  As we find more helpful resources we’ll list them here.

Skype

Skype is probably the most VOIP used application on the planet.  Everyone’s on skype and if they aren’t they are probably not aware of technology. ;-)

This is a definite must have for keeping in contact with your worker without having the hefty phone bill.  The best part about skype is that you can also use it on a lot of smart phones which makes communication easy on the go.

And if you do need to make a international phone call you’ll find extremely cheap options.

But free works just as well. ;-)   Get Skype by going here.  You can also watch the employer’s training video on how to use Skype here.

Jing

I absolutely love Jing.  It has the ability to free your time up while instructing your workers in a matter of minutes.  It’s a nice little software program created by the folks over at Techsmith.  If there’s one tool you need in your arsenal this is it.

There are two versions.  Paid and free.  You can decide which one is for you, but the free option is plenty.

You can probably tell I am a big fan of free. ;-)   Get Jing here.  You can also watch the employer’s training video on how to use Jing here.

Google Docs

If you don’t want to fork over the hundreds for getting Microsoft Office then Google Docs is one of your options.

The best thing about using Google Docs is that everything is in the ‘cloud’ so no matter where you are you really can pick up and work.  This is also great because it’s where we store the persona information for all of our logins.

This way our worker has access to it without having to contact us every 5 minutes . (how nice is that?)

If you are a member of The Outsource System then you know that the first thing you should have done is the Persona Creation.

Google Docs makes this easy to do for your worker and more.  You can visit Google Docs here.

Evernote

Ahhh….I think Evernote was created in heaven and mercifully given to humans.

Anyways, this is what you DEFINITELY want to have on your computer and your smartphone.  Why?  Because in an instant you snap a photo, speak an idea, write a quick blurb, and upload it to Evernote in a matter of seconds.

You can organize your content by tags and folders and never miss an idea again or better yet…Lose your work!

There are two options, paid or free.

Unless you have a lot going on, the free option might be best and when you need more firepower you can upgrade to paid.

Even the paid version is inexpensive.  Plus there are apps available for Iphone, Ipad, and Android market

I know you’ll love it though.  Find out more about Evernote here.

Dropbox

I could go on and on about Dropbox, but I’ll say it this way:

“Just like Evernote, always have your stuff when you need it!”

I can’t tell you how much I use Dropbox.  It’s wonderful and you can create folders that you share with your workers.  Then they upload the work from their computer and you can access it anytime you want along with being able to modify it from any where on the planet.    Plus there are apps available for Iphone, Ipad, and Android market.

You can get started with 2GB of space for free.  Go here to sign up

Open Office

Another office application you can use is Open Office.  Just like Google Docs, you can use Open Office in the place of Microsoft Office.  You can mainly the same functionality as MS Office, but without the hefty price tag.

The difference between Open Office and Google Docs is that Open Office installs on your computer and isn’t cloud based.

But it’s still just as cool. 8)

You can download Open Office here
